An installation at the British Pavilion’s “Home Economics” exhibition at the Venice Architecture Biennale shows a future of living quarters where both space and services are shared.
The “Months” concept features a private two-story core designed for sleeping, washing, and cooking. The surrounding double-height zones are meant for shared spaces for working and socializing. The idea is that rent for the “Months” plan would cover not just the real estate but also domestic needs like cleaning, cooking, laundry, and wifi.
The project’s designers were inspired by New York City boarding houses.
