Many younger, active seniors are shying away from suburban living centers and considering urban high-rise condos.
Realtor.com highlighted a Dallas couple in their early and mid-70s. They found a high-rise, Ventana by Buckner that will be completed by 2018, that will be located near theaters, shops, and restaurants, and that will have housekeeping, valet, and a concierge in the building. Most importantly, the development will contain skilled nursing, physical rehabilitation, and assisted-living and memory-care services.
Of course, the perks and the opportunity to live in a vibrant area of a major city aren’t cheap. Buy-in prices can be high-six figures or more than $1 million, and monthly rental prices can range from $5,000-$10,000.
