A new president will be elected in a few months, and several housing industry advocates are excited for a change — regardless of who gets voted in.
According to The Hill, high-ranking execs both at the Mortgage Bankers Association and the National Association of Home Builders believe that the industry can move on from the decade-old housing crash through a clean start with either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump. A new president can cut down on bureaucracy and regulations to extend homeownership.
“We’ve now gotten far enough past the housing crisis, and I would suggest respectfully that the efforts since the housing crisis have been band-aids,” NAHB president Jerry Howard said to The Hill. “And now we really need to look at the root of the problems and how to correct them.”
