Believe it or not, despite the age gap, the things most Baby Boomers and Millennials are looking for in a home are pretty similar. An open floor plan, one perfect for entertaining, and modern touches are high up on the wish list whether you were born in 1990 or 1950. Where Baby Boomers may differ from their younger Millennial counterparts, however, is in their desire for a smaller yard that doesn’t require maintenance, and single-story living, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Baby Boomers are uninterested in what is typically thought of when the term “senior living” is thrown around. They want homes that carry all the buzz words with them that a Millennial would desire; chic, sexy, hip, and in an area with a strong nightlife and amenities.
And builders are beginning to deliver on these desires. Open floor plans are being integrated without a single step anywhere to be found from the front door to the master shower.
