According to a study by GOBankingRates, Hawaii is the most expensive state in the U.S. to raise a family.
The cost for food is 58.2 percent more expensive than the national average, and the median listing price of a home is $539,000.
“While these high prices are offset somewhat by a higher median income of $60,814 in the state, Hawaii families will still find it harder to balance their budgets than most other Americans,” The Huffington Post reports.
Also on the list are New York, New Mexico, Montana, and Alaska.
