The NAR expects that this coming spring will see a boost in the number of closings this month as sellers put their homes on the market, adding to housing supply.
According to Realtor.com’s chief economist Jonathan Smoke, current higher prices for homes are a factor in why many homeowners are encouraged to sell.
The association’s February data highlighted 20 markets that are already showing a big upswing based on the ratio of listing views at Realtor.com and the number of listings for sale.
Among these markets are Waco, Texas; Ann Arbor, Mich., Fort Wayne, Ind., and Denver-Aurora-Lakewood, Colo.
