As homeowners are becoming fearful that building materials can negatively affect their health, builders are moving towards using more natural materials like wood and brick.
Building homes with healthy materials is just one of the home design trends forecasted by the American Institute of Architects, according to the Wall Street Journal. The association conducted a survey that asked more than 500 architects about major changes in home design over the next decade.
Other shifts include incorporating better disaster-resistant designs, and creating homes that cater to older generations.
