Younger adults fresh out of college are looking for employment and a good place to live. Mid-size cities, especially those in the Rust Belt and in the Midwest, are the best at meeting both needs.
Using data from Glassdoor and Zillow, CNBC ranked the top 25 metro areas for jobs and affordable housing.
Pittsburgh finished first, with 95,000 open jobs and a median base salary of $44,000. The median home value in Pittsburgh is just $137,400.
Indianapolis, Kansas City, Raleigh-Durham, and St. Louis round out the top five.
