Homes are selling fast in Boston, where a full week had been shaved off the median age of inventory over October.
Boston jumped 17 spots to No. 8 on Realtor.com’s list of the nation’s hottest housing markets. Aside from Boston, and moderate drops by Sacramento (from No. 8 to 14) and Waco, Texas, (from No. 10 to 18), the list remained similar to September’s. The top four remained San Francisco, Denver, Vallejo, Calif., and Dallas.
Homes for sale in October are actually moving off the market 2% more quickly than they did at this time last year, our data show. ... The median list price of $250,000 is the same as last month, at a time of year when sale prices typically fall. Compared with October 2015, it’s 8% higher, and a new record for October.
