OSB prices have been climbing for the last seven months and the cost of ready-mix concrete has been expanding for the last decade and a half.
The latest Producer Price Index (PPI) was released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. NAHB Eye on Housing reports that the economy-wide PPI rose 0.3 percent in September. The price for goods increased 0.7 percent.
Nearly one-third of the rise in prices for goods was attributable to 5.3 percent jump in gasoline prices. The indexes for other energy goods such as diesel fuel, jet fuel, and residential natural gas also moved higher.
