Proud Green Home reports that California has become the first state in the nation to top 10,000 megawatts of installed solar capacity.
The amount of solar assets the Sunshine State has – 10.649 MW – exceeds those of the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Australia, and Belgium. This capacity can power nearly 2.6 million homes.
According to Rhone Resch, president and CEO of Solar Energy Industries Association, California’s growth in solar is due in large part to stable and effective public policies such as the Solar Investment Tax Credit.
