According to HousingWire, cash sales have reached the lowest share since August 2008 when they tumbled 35.9 percent from July 2013, making up only 32.9 percent of total home sales in July 2014 based on CoreLogic’s latest report.
Cash sales have fallen each month since January 2013, and prior to the housing crisis, such purchases made up approximately 25 percent of all home sales. There was a peak in January 2011, when cash transactions hit 46.3 percent of total home sales.
