The exurbs saw a huge decline after the housing bubble burst, convincing analysts that preferences of Americans had shifted to urban living.
But new Census data suggests that eight years after the crash, Americans are starting to move back to the exurbs again, The Washington Post reports.
In fact, updated Census county population estimates show that exurbs are growing faster than urban areas, similar to the trend during the housing boom.
