Connecticut Requests FEMA Help In Dealing With Crumbling Foundations

Gov. Dan Malloy wants to manage damage assessment of 34,130 homes with possibly crumbling or collapsed foundations

Connecticut Gov. Dan Malloy has requested that the Federal Emergency Management Agency create a field office in northeastern Connecticut to manage damage assessment of 34,130 homes with possibly crumbling or collapsed foundations. Impacted homes are within a 20 mile radius of a quarry from which concrete that included a naturally occurring mineral that degrades concrete was produced. The governor is asking FEMA to consider the issue a natural disaster.
