The Wall Street Journal property blogger Kris Hudson writes that the nation’s biggest home builders are telling investors that new-home sales picked up during the second half of January.
This increase reflects rising consumer confidence, Hudson says. Taylor Morrison reported a 30 percent increase in its January sales year-over-year. Other builders that reported January sales exceeding their year-ago tallies include PulteGroup, Ryland Group, and Beazer Homes USA.
