The Craftsman style of the early 20th century – one that value handmade, natural materials as a reaction to the soullessness of the Industrial Revolution – is gaining popularity again.
The Wall Street Journal profiles three modern homes that are built in the Craftsman style, but with modern twists such as higher ceilings and more daylight. Houseplans.com, an online seller of blueprints, told the Wall Street Journal that 25 percent of the plans it sold in the last quarter were Craftsman.
