For the past few years, buyers searching for entry-level homes have been a bit neglected. With profit margins for homebuilders being much better in the move-up segment of the market, those looking for a starter home have been treated with a case of the Cinderellas.
Enter DR Horton, playing the role of fairy godmother for entry-level home buyers. The nation’s largest homebuilder is executing at and focusing on the entry level better than any other large builders, NBC News reports.
In 2014, they launched Express Homes, inexpensive, basic homes for prices between $120,000 and $150,000. The brand has already seen strong sales in Texas, the Carolinas, and Florida and is currently expanding into Southern California.
