A little common sense says that the most expensive housing market in California is substantially different than Arkansas’s priciest town. But how much money are we talking?
Business Insider combed through Coldwell Banker’s recent Home Listing Report and found the most expensive housing markets in each state.
In Saratoga, Calif., the average four-bedroom, two-bathroom house is priced at $2,453,718. The same house in Bentonville, Ark., will cost a buyer $248,162.
Connecticut (Greenwich), Massachusetts (Wellesley), and Hawaii (Honolulu) also have markets with the average home valued at more than $1 million. The same houses are more affordable in places like Kansas (Lenexa), Kentucky (La Grange), Mississippi (Madison), and Wyoming (Gillette). Those markets have average homes available for around $250,000.
