The Wall Street Journal conducted a survey to see what economists are analyzing the closest. Housing is among the three most frequent responses.
Many forecasters say that homebuilding was a disappointment in 2014 as home demand and construction activity did not meet expectations. But forecasters on average think housing starts will increase about 16% in 2015, with one economist referring to the industry as the “only sector poised for meaningful growth in 2015.”
