In partnership with Fortune Magazine, Glassdoor compiled a list of 10 cities offering the most job opportunities, with the greatest choice of potential employers and the smallest applicant pools.
In Glassdoor's list for Fortune, the data was based on the population sizes of each city. Boston was named No. 1, though California had the most cities, two, in the ranking; San Jose and San Francisco took the second and third spots, respectively. Glassdoor economic research analyst Amanda Stansell says that highly skilled jobhunters are "in an incredible position," particularly in smaller, "overlooked" cities. The information technology sector is doing the most hiring in each of the top 10 cities, though more than 40 percent of the jobs are for non-tech roles, amounting to 53,000 new jobs annually.
