Anyone who has ever read The Veldt by Ray Bradbury and taken its themes to heart will probably not be too thrilled to hear that a new Coldwell Banker survey predicts smart home technology will be present in almost 50 percent of American homes by the end of the year, PR Newswire reports.
A survey of more than 4,000 Americans found that 45 percent either already own smart home technology or plan to invest in 2016. Of that 45 percent, 36 percent said they do not consider themselves early adopters of technology.
Smart TVs and speaker systems are currently the most popular type of smart home technology that people already own. Smart home technology is growing in popularity and is no longer just for the young or affluent.
