Energy Dept. offering $4.9 million to states for CO2 emissions cuts

The U.S. Energy Department is providing $4.86 million for state programs to cut carbon dioxide emissions. Alabama will get $250,000 for home-energy scoring labels to inform consumers of expected cost savings from various investments in home energy efficiency. Kentucky will receive $300,000 to build a framework for assessing and verifying energy-efficiency efforts.
