First Builder In Nebraska To Offer Innovative High Performance Homes

Legacy Homes opened their doors in June 2012. Since then, the company has grown to become the second largest builder in Nebraska, building up to 300 homes each year. Legacy is committed to customizable architecture, energy efficiency, and the use of innovative building techniques to deliver high performance homes to their buyers.

Building on Legacy’s commitment to offer customers more choices than any other new home builder, Legacy Homes joined forces with BASF to integrate the HP+™ Wall System in its newest community, River Oaks.

The BASF HP+ Wall System is advanced construction technology combining two BASF products: NEOPOR®, a rigid exterior insulation that wraps the home in a continuous layer of comfort, and WALLTITE® HP+, a structural spray foam insulation inside the walls that adds strength and durability against moisture and air intrusion. The result is a wall system that delivers exceptional improvement in structural integrity, comfort, energy efficiency, and indoor air quality.

The HP+ Wall system reduces heat loss through wood framing, making the home more comfortable, and improves air tightness for improved indoor air quality. It also increases R-values, lowers energy usage, improves moisture management, and reduces lumber use by up to 25 percent.

Homeowners can now choose to incorporate the HP+ Wall System when they purchase any new Legacy Home. Legacy builds in many communities in Omaha, Lincoln, and the surrounding markets. Homes start for as little as $250,000 and range from 1,400 sq.ft to 3,000 sq.ft. All of the homes in these communities achieve a HERS rating index scores are in the mid 40s to low 50s.

All homes are tested for energy efficiency by an independent third party and each individual home receives its own HERS score.
