After a long reign of LEED in many parts of the U.S. commercial sector, the certification’s creator is partnering with like-minded institutions to create a simpler standard.
According to Green Building Advisor, the U.S. Green Building Council, ASHRAE, the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and the International Code Council (ICC) will unite to harmonize the various green building codes with the aim of simplifying implementation of local green building regulations and incentive programs.
