Modern lighting brand Flos has introduced a new sculptural collection made of cylindrical modules that can be interconnected to create floor and pendant lamps.
Noctambule, by German designer Konstantin Grcic, is a large-scale sculptural collection made of cylindrical see-through glass modules that can be interconnected to create different sizes and configurations.
Enriched by a glass bowl or cone-shaped head, the modules can be joined together up to six elements to create a tall lighting column.
“Almost invisible at daylight, its shape is outlined in the dark by the strip LED hosted at the modules’ base and connecting rings,” the company says. “Noctambule provides a diffused light giving a fascinating, magical atmosphere to any environment.”
Inspired by night owls, Noctambule features a die-cast aluminum frae and blown-crystal diffuser. The units’ LED light source is dimmable from its power unit within the ceiling rose or controlled using the pedal-enabled panel in its power cord.
“Grcic has modeled the lamp to be dynamic in nature—it can be used as a hanging light or standing lamp—and features additional components that allow the user to experiment with the product in unprecedented ways,” the company says.
The fixture is available in a three-light conofiguration or with six modules.
