The NAR releases a list of energy-efficiency features that buyers said influenced their decision to buy.
The list is based on trends from the association’s 2014 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, and the 2015 Home Buyer and Seller Generational Trends report.
A majority of respondents, 86 percent, said that heating and cooling costs were a major influence in their decisions, followed by what type of energy efficient appliances and lighting the home was equipped with.
Only 11 percent of respondents answered that having solar panels installed was an important influencing factor.
