Just as Millennials put off marriage and buying a home until they feel more financially secure, they also delay the time when they have children, the Wall Street Journal reported.
There were only 62.5 births for every 1,000 women of childbearing age in the U.S. in 2013, down from 63 births in 2012. The country’s fertility rate also dropped in 2013, going from 2.1 children a woman will have in her lifetime to 1.86. At the same time, the birth rate for women between the ages of 35 and 39 are at their highest in almost 50 years.
