In a high-density city like Tokyo, many homeowners are choosing to build up on small plots of land, the Wall Street Journal reports.
One couple purchased a piece of land that is 12 feet wide and 27 feet deep, with the main section being just five feet wide. The home has three floors and the narrowest section is where the stairs are located. If the couple wants to go to another room, they must do so through an exterior entrance.
