MarketWatch cites a report released by RealtyTrac that reveals the median sales price of a home in the U.S. was $195,000 in September, up 15 percent from the year prior.
According to MarketWatch, this is the largest annual percentage increase since October 2005, and this is the 30th consecutive month where U.S. median home prices have increased annually. Some markets had a pronounced jump in home prices – the top five of these markets are Detroit, Austin, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Stockton, Calif.
