Seattle-based startup Node is among many companies using modular building to speed up the construction of housing. However, unlike some modular components that are shipped in huge flat bed trucks that can’t get to everywhere, require a crane, and many trades people onsite to assemble, Node designs flat-pack kits that fit into a standard shipping container. The kits can be shipped on regular trucks or trains, and the click together walls and systems enable less experience workers in the field to complete the majority of the work.
