As multigenerational living becomes more common, expect the number, and costs, of remodeling projects to increase.
According to data from NAHB Eye on Housing, households with two or three generations are more likely than households with one generation to embark on a remodeling project over the course of a year.
Two generation households with an older generation (such as a parent) are less likely than solo generational households to take on a remodeling project, but the two generation household is likely to spend more on a project than other segments ($12,561, compared to $10,064 for all households).
