Craigslist, the classified advertisements website, attracts a little bit of everyone — from people willing to sell their decade-old blender to city planners at University of California at Berkeley.
The Washington Post reports that Craigslist provides a detailed look at the nation’s rental housing market.
Two researchers with Cal-Berkeley pulled millions of listings off the site in 2014, sorted all of the data, and found patterns for median rents, per-square-foot price points, and affordability across different states and metros.
