The Senate approved a one-year extension on some items of tax policy, sevearl of which were housing-focused, the NAHB reports.
Many of the items on the list were supported by the NAHB and included a fixed credit rate for low income housing tax credit projects, tax credits for energy-efficient new homes, bonus depreciation, an energy-efficient commercial buildings deduction, tax credits for qualified energy-efficiency improvements, small business expensing, and mortgage forgiveness tax relief. These extenders will expire at the end of the year and once again be part of the tax policy debate in 2015.
