Texas’s largest city has a grand new supply of apartments, but Houston’s rents will appreciate by 2.5 percent to a median of $1,619, according to the Houston Chronicle.
The growth will be slower than last year, when rents in the Houston area rose 5.2 percent.
"The slowdown in rental appreciation will provide some relief for renters who've been seeing their rents rise dramatically every single year for the past few years," Zillow chief economist Svenja Gudell said in a statement. "However, the situation remains tough on the ground: rents are still rising and renters are struggling to keep up."
