An analysis of data from the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development by the NAHB reveals that, relatively, property taxes collected in the U.S. makes up a high share of total government revenues.
The average share of total government tax collections due to real estate property taxes in all OECD member countries was 3.347 percent. In the U.S., it is a 11.35 percent share.
