Analysis from Bloomberg View shows that most cities with economies running above the national average are located in the Midwest.
The analysis looked at four metrics, including percentage of residents with a bachelor’s degree, the area’s three-year job growth, 10-year per-capita income growth, and the ratio of the area’s median home price to median income.
Out of the seven U.S. cities above the national average in all four metrics, four were in the Midwest. They included Columbus, Indiana; Columbus, Ohio; Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Indianapolis. Many other Midwestern cities came in just below national averages.
