Experian went out to study the average credit scores of U.S. cities, and found that four cities in Minnesota made the top 10 list for highest average credit scores.
Released in Experian’s 2015 State of Credit report with figures based on consumer data from the second quarter of this year, Mankato, Rochester, and Minneapolis—all in Minnesota—were the top three cities with the highest average credit score, with 706, 705, and 704 respectively.
The report also reveals that northern Midwestern cities tend to have a populace on good terms with their lenders. Rounding up the top 10 are three cities in Wisconsin (Wausau, Green Bay, and La Crosse), two of the largest cities from each of the Dakotas (Fargo, N.D., and Sioux Falls, S.D.), and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, at spot number 10.
