According to a Trulia study, 89 percent of Americans ages 18 to 34 plan on owning a home someday. But 72 percent of Millennials say they will wait at least two years to finally purchase a house.
The survey, which factored in responses from more than 2,000 people, found that 36 percent of Millennials are saving for a house, compared to 52 percent saving for a car and 35 percent socking money away for college tuition.
The survey also says that Gen-Xers prefer homes between 2,001 and 2,600 square feet, while Baby Boomers prefer houses a bit smaller, from 1,400 to 2,000 square feet.
