More Housing in L.A. Would Have Slowed Its Rising Housing Costs

L.A. Curbed poses the question: how much does Los Angeles have to build to get out of its housing crisis?

Data from the Legislative Analyst’s Office shows that the groundwork for L.A's housing shortage has been laid for a long time.

For today’s housing prices to be in check, California would have had to build something between 70,000 to 110,000 additional units each year. And, these residential units must be denser, and located in coastal areas and central cities as opposed to mostly building inland.
