Construction is about to begin on a new 3,300-acre development in Folsom, Calif.
The development will hold an estimated 11,000 homes and apartments housing 25,000 residents, as well as three public schools, two fire stations, a police station, and 82 acres of commercial buildings. The first buyers could be moving in before the end of 2018, according to the Sacramento Bee.
The development will hopefully ease the shortage of housing in the area, though it will take a couple of decades to be fully built out. Labor shortages and development costs are keeping builders at a slow to moderate pace.
