Pima County, Ariz., established new regulations for houses less than 400 sf. The county, home to the city of Tucson, now allows tiny homes of any size, provided that they have permanent foundations.
Some building code minimum standards, such as those for egress, were eased for these homes. In a related matter, the county imposed stricter regulations for small trailer homes, whereas in the past putting a tiny home on wheels was a way to circumvent stringent zoning and building requirements.
