Popular social media apps such as Twitter and Facebook are banned in China. Instead, there's WeChat, whose users now take advantage of it for more than just connecting friends. They use it to buy a luxury in the U.S. home .
"I'll put up a floor plan and say that a new property is good on the blog and the location is great. Then people will say 'I'm interested' and buy," Emma Hao, a real estate agent who uses WeChat, tells Business Insider. "It's really something else."
Home tours are usually given through the app’s video and photo functions, and according to Business Insider, the negotiations are completed “solely through the chatting app.”
Payments, however, are still made in cash.
