The single-family home price year-over-year number is down from last year’s 10.4 percent increase from September 2012 to 2013. This year, asking prices rose year-over-year in 92 of the 100 largest U.S. metros. Although condo prices are outpacing single-family home prices, both are following a similar trend in which prices are rising faster in metros with stronger job growth and those that had a more severe housing bust in the past decade.
