To bring the Passive House concept one step further, builders in Westport, Connecticut designed the Pure House.
According to AOL Real Estate, builders of the Pure House were as intentionally conscious on how building materials, furnishings, and appliances are sourced as they are with the home’s energy-efficiency performance.
According to Doug Mcdonald, founder of the Pure House, the concept "is born from the same model that brought you restaurants that serve 'farm-to-table' food and the reason why you shop at your local farmers market. You want to know that the ingredients are pure and natural and good for you."
