Buyers who purchased a home in 2014 put down $32,141 on average, a new report by RealtyTrac reveals.
Translated into percentages, buyers put down an average of 14 percent for their homes. The report also revealed that the average down payment in the 25 most-expensive counties was 24 percent ($138,546), which is twice the average down payment in the 25 lowest-priced counties of 12 percent ($8,239).
