The common narrative says that Millennials move to be somewhere hip and happening, paying a large sum of their meager income for rent.
But Zillow’s study found another important trend that would expose the common narrative as flawed: the places Millennials move to also have the lowest unemployment rates. So even though Millennials are more mobile than older adults and more likely to move for “school, love, lifestyle, or just a change of scenery,” another main reason is they move to where the jobs are.
