With the top 50 master planned communities (MPCs) in the country capturing 22,238 new home sales in 2014, John Burns Real Estate Consulting declared the year a strong one.
That number makes up 5 percent of annual US new home sales. However, there were many ups and downs in this sector – 22 builders of the top 50 experienced sales declines, while only 12 experienced increases. The same can be found when isolating different markets, as three Las Vegas master plans accounted for over 20 percent of the metro’s new-home sales, while Houston’s Cinco Ranch and The Woodlands experienced slow sales.
