The year 2015 wasn’t exactly kind to renters. All over the country, rents climbed to levels that made affordability a very real issue. But fortunately, Zillow has some good news, as it expects rents to grow half as fast in 2016.
While this news should offer some much-needed relief, rents are going to continue to rise, and renters are going to continue to have difficulty in keeping up. San Jose, Calif., is expected to see the biggest increase in rent in 2016, with a rise of 7.8 percent.
Other cities where rent is still expected to climb significantly are Buffalo, N.Y., San Francisco, and Seattle, at 7.4 percent, 5.9 percent, and 4.5 percent respectively.
