From the fourth quarter of 2014 through the end of the third quarter of 2015, the revenue produced by property taxes saw a 7.5 percent gain, raising the total amount to $527 billion paid in property taxes.
This marks the largest growth since 2010. In addition, property taxes accounted for the largest share of state and local tax receipts among major sources over the past four quarters, tallying 39.6 percent of the whole.
Individual income taxes, sales taxes, and corporate taxes rounded out the list at 28.4 percent, 27.6 percent, and 4.4 percent respectively.
