The Huffington Post looked at a GOBankingRates survey of the costs that affect singles the most (prices of clothes, gym memberships, date nights, and rent) across 89 major U.S. cities.
San Francisco sits atop the list. The city’s rent of $3.36 per square foot is more than three times the surveyed cities’ median price of $0.91 per square foot. Also, the average price of a standard romantic date (bottle of wine, dinner for two, two movie tickets and a 10-mile taxi ride) was $147, higher than the median price of $109.
New York, Washington, Honolulu, and Boston are the next four most expensive cities for singles.
